Recommended Resources

We want to empower our members to be learning and growing in their faith outside of the walls of the church. To help with that, we have some recommended reading and resources below for you to use in your homes to help you better understand and live out the Christian life. The title of each resource is a link to where to learn more it and/or where to access it.

  • John (Less than a Month-Long Plan) - A great place to start reading Scripture is in one of the four Gospels. In the Gospel of John, you will learn who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Take it one chapter a day, and you’ll have read about the life and ministry of Jesus in less than a month (in 21 days to be exact)!

    Proverbs (Month Long Plan) - Proverbs is a wonderful book of practical wisdom and biblical principles to live by. Since it is 31 chapters long, it is the perfect book to pick up and read each day in a month. Jump in now by reading the chapter for whatever day of the month it is today.

    Chronological Plan (Year Long Plan) - This plan will take you through the whole Bible chronologically, or as they happened in order in history.

    5 Days Per Week (Year Long Plan) - This plan takes you through the Bible in a year, but only reading 5 days a week. This allows you to miss days in a week but still stay with your plan. You also read some of each Testament each day.

    M’Cheyne Plan (Year Long Plan) - This study, created by 19th century pastor Robert Murray M’Cheyne, takes you through the Bible in one year, while also reading the New Testament and Psalms twice.

  • “How To Start Reading The Bible Every Day & Stick With It” by Ken Braddy - This article helps you think through 7 practical steps for creating consistency in personal Bible Reading.

    How Can I Get More Out Of My Bible Reading? by Jeremy Kimble - This little book (less than 50 pages) seeks to answer the question its title poses. It will quickly walk you through a practical Bible study method for your personal study, as well as give you other resources to help you study Scripture more effectively.

    40 Questions About Interpreting The Bible by Robert L. Plummer - If you want to dig deeper, this book will help you wade through interpretive issues that you may encounter while studying the Scriptures and give greater confidence as you engage the text.

  • What If I’m Discouraged In My Evangelism? by Isaac Adams - In this encouraging little book that’s less than 50 pages, you’ll find 9 truths from Scripture to encourage you in to grow in faithfulness to share the Gospel with those that are close to you but far from God.

    Before You Share Your Faith by Matt Smethurst - In less than 100 pages, Smethurst walks through ways to be evangelism ready, from having a good grasp on the Gospel, to biblical motivations for evangelism, to overcoming common fears that keep us from sharing the Good News, and more.

  • 3 Circles Gospel Presentation - This is a simple way to share the Gospel with those you know that are far from God. It uses a visual aid you can draw on a notecard or napkin as you walk through the Good News. Click the link to see an example of someone using the 3 Circles to share the Gospel. There is also a free app called Life On Mission which can help you learn the 3 Circles, and allows you to share it with others through the visuals on the app. Click the highlighted link to download the app, which also includes other helpful evangelism tools.

    What Is The Gospel? Tract - This tract walks through the Gospel in a clear and concise way. You can use this by handing it out to those who need Christ, or as a way to learn and practice sharing the Gospel for when you don’t have a tool in your hand. The link above takes you to where you can purchase physical copies, but the description of the tract contains the full text, so you can read it and learn it for free!

  • The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones - Introduce your childen to the beauty of God’s Word as you walk through many of the major stories of the Bible, seeing Jesus at the center of each of these stories.

    Parenting by Paul David Tripp - Tripp gives a big-picture view of God’s plan for parents while providing practical wisdom through 14 Gospel principles.

  • The Meaning of Marriage by Tim & Kathy Keller - The Keller’s teach the biblical understanding of marriage and show how that conflicts with our culture’s understanding of relationships.

    Marriage by Paul David Tripp - Tripp walks through 6 theological yet practical Gospel commitments that should be the foundation of a healthy marriage in a real, honest way.

  • Ramsey Solutions - Dave Ramsey’s organization provides a plethora of resources and advice based on biblical principles for how to steward all that God has blessed you with.
